Luigi La Pegna
Luigi La Pegna graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rome, with further specialization in General Management (Northwestern and Harvard University) and Masters in Administration, Finance & Control and Business Management. He managed worldwide large investment from aerospatial (2 years with European Space Agency), Oil & Gas (9 years with Mannesmann Anlagenbau AG), civil and infrastructures for high speed trains (3 years with Italian National Railways).
In 2001 he joined Enel where he served as Director for Development and Execution of Renewable Energies, Country Manager for EGP France, Head of Project Management & Control in Enel Green Power (300 new power plants, 5000MW, 6000MUSD), Head of Project Management & Execution in Enel E&R, with responsibility on all new Projects for Global Generation worldwide (Coal, CCGT, Oil & Gas, Large Hydroelectric) and main refurbishment on existing Power Plants of 80,000 MW.
On 2016 Luigi has been appointed as Head of Global Operation & Maintenance in Global Renewable Energy (over 1,200 Power Plants in 23 Countries, 45,000 MW Installed Capacity, over 4,500 colleagues), with responsibility to manage and monitor production, operations and maintenance activities for all Enel Group Renewable assets worldwide in all technologies (hydroelectric, wind, solar, geothermal, biomass).
From 2013 to 2015 he was also CEO for PowerCrop Group (Biomass). He has registered four International Patents for Innovative Wind units, and represented Italy for eleven years at Project Committee of GSEP.
