Edouard Sauvage graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des ponts et chaussées.
From 1993 to 1995, he worked for the French Administration (DATAR) and then for the french Prime Minister as Technical Advisor.
In 1997, he joined EDF GDF Services, where he held various responsibilities.
In 2002, he was appointed Deputy of Strategic and European Affairs within Gaz de France Strategy Division and in 2003, co-Director of the International Division. 
In 2004, he was appointed Head of Natural Gas Supplies at Gaz de France and later at GDF SUEZ.
Edouard Sauvage was appointed Director of Strategy at GDF SUEZ on February 11, 2013, and joined the executive committee.

Since 24th of November 2015, he is Chief Executive Officer at GRDF, the main French gas Distribution System Operator
