Talk community interview: Tiko Energy Solutions

See what Sandra Trittin, Co-founder & Head of Business Dev. and Marketing, Tiko Energy Solutions Gold Partner of EUW, has to say about the opportunities and threats she sees for the industry.

  • What does Tiko Energy Solutions see as the biggest opportunity for the smart energy industry?

Our energy future and the smart energy industry are not only about the distribution of decentralized energy resources like photovoltaic, batteries, e-cars etc. It is also about their intelligent connection and creating the highest value for the customer, the energy industry and society. Intelligent communication combined with machine learning algorithms, which are continuously improving, will be one of the short-term opportunities for the smart energy industry.

  • and as the biggest threat to the smart energy industry?

One of the big threats to the smart energy industry is fear of innovation and adaption. To move forward into a clean energy future with less CO2 emissions, higher efficiency and the integration of renewable energies, new products, processes and business models are needed. Smart energy implies that it is a continuously advancing industry, where it is not clear yet how it will look like in 5 years from now. But if we don’t take the opportunity now, it will be difficult to be part of it in the future.

  • What are the key topics you will highlight at this year’s EUW?

The trends in the energy industry for 2018/2019 reflect our companies views, besides the digitalisation and intelligent usage of distributed energy resources, the customer trends in the area of "local consumption“ and sharing economy. These ideas are driving this year’s focus of tiko at the EUW to demonstrate its Virtual Power Plant and Home Energy Management functionalities by highlighting the solutions in the areas of community building and e-mobility charging.
