Initiate! Young Talent Programme

Presenting your vision for tomorrow to the energy leaders of today

The Initiate! Young Talent Programme welcomed students and young professionals about to graduate and ready to work in the industry or under 35 and working for a utility.

The industry needs new talent and new ideas to encourage the development of solutions and strategies to bring about change.

Young Talents were able network with their peers, share their knowledge and work with other utility professionals to put their ideas into practice. By joining the programme they had access to the EUW Summit programme where they were additionally able to schmoose with the policymakers, thought leaders and utility giants.

We granted 200 FREE tickets for European Utility Week 2019 to students with the ambition to make an impact and innovate the industry. We just asked them to be pro-active, motivated and engaged!

Game Changing Impact Challenges

For the third time already, InnoEnergy organised the Game Changing Impact Challenges (GCIC) during European Utility Week.

100 master and PhD students from all over Europe were divided into teams and use their skills, creativity and knowledge to solve real industry challenges the energy industry is facing today.

Challenges this year were offered by Vattenfall, McKinsey Energy Insights and E.ON, amongst others.

The InnoEnergy students were divided into teams and used design thinking and innovation practices to identify and build a campaign response that was pitched back to the industry.

Anyone who would like to be inspired and see their innovative and sustainable solutions, could have joined us during the Closing Keynote, on Thursday 14th November, 13h30, where the overall winning team of the Game Changing Impact Challenges presented their solutions.

TU Berlin Challenge - Energy Management MBA

The Technical University of Berlin, University Ambassador of Initiate! and Sponsor of the Young Talents Programme, launched an internal pre-event challenge for the Energy Management MBA Students, where the winner of the challenge got to pitch his idea on the Initiate! Stage during European Utility Week 2019.

The challenge consisted in students having to develop a business idea, write a business plan, and then present this business plan in a pitch and with a poster.
