EU Projects Zone
Investment in research and innovation and maximising its impact is probably the best option for shaping a better future. The European Commission is supporting via Horizon 2020 – the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever – projects on Smart Grid, Energy Storage, Smart Cities and electro mobility. These projects have the potential to contribute to a successful, digitally-supported energy transition.
To complement the work of each individual project, the European Commission has launched the BRIDGE initiative. This allows the projects to create a common view on cross-cutting issues they encounter that may be obstacles to deployment. It does this by exchanging information, experience, knowledge and best practices to produce coherent recommendations to policy makers for removing the identified barriers.
To facilitate SME access to international markets, the European Commission also supports 23 European Strategic Cluster Partnerships – Going International (ESCPs-4i). These are transnational cluster partnerships that develop and implement a joint internationalisation strategy and support SME. Together, they represent a potential to support more than 17,000 European SMEs in accessing global value chains and taking a leading position globally.
This EU Projects Zone at European Utility Week aims at showcasing the research and findings of several EU funded projects focusing at digitally supporting the energy transition.
Visitors will be able hear and discover first-hand the current results, thus gaining industry knowledge and innovation of EU-funded research.
If your project has the potential to contribute to a successful, digitally-supported energy transition, fill out the form on this page and let us know about your interest! We will contact you!
