- What is for your project the biggest opportunity for the smart energy industry?
Digitalisation and increasing needs to reduce lost minutes of service per customer are the driving forces opening opportunities for the SOGNO solution. Moreover, SOGNO enables real-time monitoring of the grid at highest quality at minimal cost enabling a safe energy supply up to 100 % RES.
- What is for your project the biggest threat to the smart energy industry?
The biggest threat to the smart energy industry is from the SOGNO point of view if no changes are made on a regulatory level. A legal framework has to be created in which investments in software or in software-based services are treated equally as investments in hardware devices. If this is not the case, the European energy sector will have a significant competitiveness disadvantages. Nevertheless, also DSOs need to be open to the innovative approach to invest in cloud-based services, connected to software-solutions, instead of investing in hardware.
- What are the key topics your project will highlight at this year’s EUW?
Key topics are cloud based services for DSOs including self-healing and advanced deep learning enabled by 5G mobile communications.
