Talk community interview: Invade H2020

See what Pol Olivella-Rosell, Senior Researcher for Invade project,  has to say about the opportunities and threats he sees for the industry.
  • What is for your project the biggest opportunity for the smart energy industry?

The INVADE project is developing a cloud-based platform that manage flexibility. The platform allows aggregators to manage a portfolio of flexible customers with batteries, electric vehicles and thermal loads. It reduces the electricity bills of all customers. At the same time, it can aggregate several prosumers to provide flexibility services to the local distribution system operator or the energy retailer/balance responsible party.

  • What is for your project the biggest threat to the smart energy industry?

For our project, the biggest threat is the regulation which should allow using centralized and distributed batteries in all European Countries. This should happen soon in order to be competitive in other markets like North-America.

  • What are the key topics your project will highlight at this year’s EUW?

This year we present the initial simulation results and the flexibility platform business model
