The energy industry is facing one of the most interesting periods of development in years. With the evolution of the smart energy ecosystem comes a mind shift in the industry and a growing emphasis is now being placed on collaboration, interoperability, shared targets and joint ambitions. These buzzwords inform the overall theme for this year’s conference, a theme which has been consolidated into the line: ‘’pulling in one direction’’.
The official opening session of the European Utility Week will bring together key industry stakeholders to share their visions on the upcoming paradigm shift for the energy industry. Thoughts will reflect on what is needed to integrate the market and achieve a future proof market design, how to prepare the ICT industry and issues of interoperability, how we ensure EU carbon targets will be met and, critically, how to further engage the end-user.
The keynote presentations will be followed by an outstanding panel of European energy figures, each representing different components of the industry. Together these speakers will address how the industry can position itself to work more collaboratively, discussing in particular the evolving energy mix, the ongoing scope for the digitalisation of energy, and the political, economic and environmental backdrop to these developments.
